Homework Coach
Help children with their homework in the Library!

Homework Club Coach

Homework Coaches are needed at the East San Jose Carnegie Branch Library's Homework Club. The club will meet on Thursday afternoons from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, from September 6, 2018 until June 6, 2019. Duties include:

  • Help students in grades K-8 understand their homework in a range of subjects - reading, writing, math, social studies, and science
  • Coach students individually and in small groups
  • Collaborate with staff to create enrichment activities for those who complete their homework
  • Assist with administrative tasks, as needed

Watch children's confidence build as they master their homework!

Description

Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
