ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army San Diego Regional Office

Support The Salvation Army Chula Vista Corps Community Center by teaching Spanish to members of the neighborhood who are learning Spanish as a second language!


Qualifications and requirements for this position:

  • Must be able to commit to one hour a week from 12-1 pm on Wednesdays, for a period of three months or more
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and boundaries as required and appropriate
  • Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and participants
  • Prior teaching experience NOT required
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Prepare a syllabus and daily lesson plans for each class, based on student needs
  • Instruct assigned Spanish language class for a minimum of a three month period
  • Counsel and support students in developing and accomplishing individual learning goals, as needed
  • Document student attendance, progress, and areas of need
