About Us:

For over 100 years, the Connecticut Association for Human Services (CAHS) has worked to end poverty by engaging, equipping, and empowering families in Connecticut to build a secure future. Since 2009, The Connecticut Money School (CMS) has provided free financial education for over 5,000 low-to-moderate income people throughout the state. Utilizing community partnerships, our workshops are taught by qualified volunteers from the financial field and have been hosted by more than 80 organizations in Connecticut, including nonprofit service providers, libraries and churches.

Volunteer Opportunity:

We seek volunteers who would like to help residents in low-to-moderate income communities improve their financial skills through workshops in budgeting, debt management, credit, basic banking, financial goal setting, saving, paying for college, and more. As a Volunteer Instructor, you will facilitate financial education workshops at various locations throughout the state using CAHS’ resources and your professional experience. These workshops are offered at community organizations in urban and suburban areas including Bridgeport, Norwalk, New London, New Haven, Waterbury, New Britain, and Hartford. For more information, please contact Barbara Steadman at (860) 951-2212, ext. 244 or bsteadman@cahs.org.
