City Vision Internships is a Christian one-year, multi-year or summer internship program based on the AmeriCorps model. Interns serve at one of over 40 positions across the USA and Canada. In the past 10 years, we have placed over 500 full-time interns and 68,000+ volunteers in hundreds of Christian ministries. Job Description: To be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operation of mentoring and summer programs, ensuring that the programs provide excellent and age-appropriate learning opportunities. To assist in the administration of various programs as needed.
- Reports directly to the Executive Director and works in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator
- To be responsible for overseeing the Summer of Promise Day Camp and People of Promise Mentoring program including assisting with recruitment of youth, support of volunteers, and encouraging parent involvement.
- To continue to build relationships with local schools for the expansion of mentoring and tutoring programs.
- To build quality, supportive, loving relationships with youth and their families. Encouraging youth to break the cycle of poverty in their families and helping instill wisdom to make good choices.
- To work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator on recruitment, training, support, and appreciation of youth program volunteers.
- To be responsible for the quality of the youth programs ensuring that they meet the CUP standard of excellence.
- To support external funding applications where appropriate.
- To monitor, record, review and evaluate programs and goals achieved making sure that data is accurate and available for board members and grant applications.
- To work alongside the staff of Cincinnati Urban Promise to promote the ministry and encourage the growth of the programs.
- Provides a work study internship with free tuition in City Vision College for a full year paid by hosting ministry.
- Online courses providing accredited degrees in Nonprofit Management, Addiction Studies, and Urban Missions.
- Any Pell grant or other federal financial aid paid as cash payment to student (up to $5,645).
- Expectation is typically 29 hours of volunteer work with 16 hours of class work per week (45 hours total).
