Our goal is to create an environment in which patients, families, staff, and volunteers are treated with respect and dignity. When a volunteer is assigned a patient we want the volunteer to become an integral member of that patient's interdisciplinary team.Volunteers who join this team often bring help and services to which patients and their families may not have access. Even without a medical background, volunteers have gifts they can offer. Here are some examples: Companionship Respite care for family members and other caregivers Massage, music or pet therapy, healing touch or other alternative therapies Bereavement support 11th Hour care Clerical assistance at Namaste's office Practicum and internship opportunities Veterans helping veterans

Description
Namaste is a Sanskrit word, often said in India when people meet or part. It is a term of deep respect and is conveyed with high regard. Essentially, when someone used the word Namaste, they are saying, The divine in me bows to the divine in you.
Namaste Hospice was founded in 1998 with the intent to exceed all expectations and empower patients and families to life fully and die well, on their own terms.
Namaste Hospice values include a: Bias toward "yes"; patient self-determination,autonomy and choice; belief in an "abundant universe of possibility"; do good and do well; and work/life balance.
We believe that death is not a failure, but that dying well, on one's own terms, is an ultimate success.
