Intrepid Hospice seeks kindhearted, friendly volunteers to assist patients and families living with terminal illness.

As a part of our Volunteer Program you will provide valuable patient care through friendly visits to homes and facilities. Volunteers develop friendships while providing emotional support to patients and families through visits, reading, relief sitting, letter writing, preparation of meals, grocery shopping, pet therapy, music, and art.

Intrepid Hospice Volunteer Testimony:

"While I volunteered at Intrepid Hospice, I would go on friendly visits to see patients. During these visits, I would help patients with light house work like cleaning the kitchen or just got and visit with them to keep them company for a few hours a day. One of my favorite experiences while working with a patient in the field would be when I was taught to crochet by one patient that I visited weekly. This patient loved to crochet and knit and was very excited when I asked her if she would teach me how to crochet. Whenever I would visit, I would bring my yarn and we would sit and crochet together. It was truly rewarding watching her light up as she taught me how to crochet and how excited she was when I showed her the scarf that I made for my mother."

Orientation and training is provided. A two-step TB test and background check are required, and is taken care of free of charge.
