Spring Break for Dallas ISD (and many other surrounding school districts) will be here before we know it! With different themes planned for each day, we are looking forward to thousands of guests at Texas Discovery Gardens where they will enjoy crafts, games, activities, story times, and animal encounters all for the price of admission. We are looking for fun, engaging folks (about 4-6 volunteers per day) who love working with children to help with arts & crafts, work in the Gift Shop, docent in the Butterfly House and Snake House, serve as an Activity Assistant, and more!

Mission Statement
Texas Discovery Gardens is where children and adults discover and learn to sustain the natural world. Our vision is to provide a safe and natural oasis to our Dallas community. We want every visitor to leave with the knowledge and desire to emulate our sustainable practices at home!
Description
Texas Discovery Gardens is a 501(c)(3) organization. Our 7.5 acre organic garden features native and adapted plants. Inside, our two-story Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House and Insectarium transports you to a tropical rainforest, complete with hundreds of free-flying tropical butterflies!
Located in Dallas' historic Fair Park, Texas Discovery Gardens is a year-round organically maintained urban oasis filled with natural wonders. Family festivals, workshops, free admission days, and our extensive (and growing) EarthKeepers(r) student education program introduce children and adults to natural outdoor learning experiences.
We are the first public garden in the state of Texas to be certified 100% organic by the Texas Organic Research Center. The gardens are maintained using sustainable methods that conserve water and help to protect the environment.
