ORGANIZATION: Elkhart General Hospital

We are looking for adults age 19 and over with licensed and certified Pet Therapy Dogs to visit patients as well as meet and greet visitors in our waiting rooms and patient care areas. If you and your dog have gone through training and certification through either Pet Partners, or Therapy Dogs International, and your dog is current on all their shots and requirements, we would love to speak with you!To begin the volunteering process at Elkhart General Hospital, you will need to attend Orientation Sessions. The next available Orientation dates can be obtained by calling 574-523-2761. Some of the additional requirements to volunteer at Elkhart General Hospital are up to date inoculation records, TB test, safety quiz, filling out the application and paperwork, and a background check. The Volunteer Services Department at Elkhart General Hospital works in partnership with the Elkhart Hospital Auxiliary, an organization that has provided both funding for special projects at the hospital, and service hour support to patients, visitors, and guests, and those in the surrounding community.
