Guest Engagement

Do you enjoy interacting with a diverse group of people? Are you passionate about the natural world? Are you ready to learn, and teach, new things? We are looking for you!

We're currently looking for Summer Interpretation volunteers! In this short-term, summer-only position, volunteers build excitement and help create special Shedd moments by engaging guests with relevant animal information and providing great customer service for audiences of various backgrounds. Summer Interpreters engage with guests in high-traffic areas outside and inside the aquarium building, facilitating hands-on activities and touch pool experiences.

Requirements:

  • Age 12+ (ages 12-15 must volunteer with an adult)
  • Able to volunteer once a week on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday from 9am-3pm.
  • Available for an in-person interview at Shedd prior to April 29th
  • Able to attend mandatory trainings on May 19th and May 20th, both days from 9am-4pm.

Are you ready to join us? Apply online at http://www.sheddaquarium.org/About-Us/Jobs-Internships-and-Volunteering/Volunteer-Listings/.
