Bike-a-thon is a 65 + mile bike ride that spans from the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia, riding the scenic back roads of New Jersey to Atlantic City. Riders pass by the ever-famous Blueberry Fields in Hammonton, the Pine Barrens of South Jersey, ending at the iconic Jersey Shore. Together, over 3,000 riders journey from the Bridge to the Beach in celebration of a year-round fundraising effort. More important than "riding for a cure", the riders raise more than $1 million each year for the American Cancer Society’s programs and services. Bike-a-thon honors cancer survivors with a special blue rider bib, a blue ribbon cut by survivors to start the event, and a ceremony at the endpoint. It is an opportunity to enjoy a fun, well-supported bike ride while making a difference in the lives of others. With over 200 volunteers needed, there is truly something for everyone! Volunteers at our endpoint in Atlantic City will support our riders on the beach, in Kennedy Plaza and at Boardwalk Hall. There are many opportunities available- kids are welcome! All volunteers will get a complimentary lunch and t-shirt.
