Sharing your digital skills can do amazing things for your community! If you know how to use a computer and the internet, you can empower others in Austin who are looking for help.
The mission of Austin Free-Net is to provide computer training and access for the community, fostering skills that enable people to succeed in a digital age. As an Austin Free-Net trainer you would be working one-on-one with area neighbors, supporting them by showing them how to use technology to meet their needs. Rather than formatted class sessions, our neighbors come to our lab with a goal in mind, a motivation behind it, and a determination to tackle the technological obstacle in front of them. You'll help people to reach their goals, which often involve creating and using email accounts, learning how to navigate the web, advancing Microsoft Word skills, making resumes, searching for jobs, creating and using social media accounts, and even starting online businesses! Each day at Austin Free-Net is new and exciting and by providing digital literacy help and training you can acquire highly valuable teaching and interpersonal skills.
