Independent Transportation Network Lehigh Valley (ITNLehighValley) is seeking energetic, motivated professionals who wish to enhance the lives of seniors through service on the ITNLehighValley Board of Directors. We are looking for people who can share their passion for our mission of providing 24/7 transportation to seniors and visually impaired adults.

The Board will support the work of ITNLehighValley and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. Day-to-day operations of the organization are led by the Executive Director. The Board-Executive Director relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected.

Specific Board Member Responsibilities Include:

• Leadership, governance and oversight.
• Working with the Executive Director to formulate a strategic plan.
• Reviewing outcomes and metrics used by ITNLehighValley for evaluating its impact, and regularly measuring its performance and effectiveness using those metrics.
• Reviewing agenda and supporting materials prior to Board and committee meetings/calls.
• Approving ITNLehighValley's annual budget, audit reports, and material business decisions; being informed of, and meeting all legal and fiduciary responsibilities.
• Assisting the Executive Director and Board Chair in identifying and recruiting other board members.
• Representing ITNLehighValley to stakeholders; acting as an ambassador for the organization.
• Ensuring ITNLehighValley's commitment to a diverse board and staff which reflects the Lehigh Valley.

Specific Board Member Expectations:

• Complete a two-year Board commitment
• Attend quarterly Board meetings
• Make a personally significant financial contribution
• Make a personally significant contribution of time and talent
• Participate in fundraising efforts
• Recruit event attendees
