About

PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Every year, more than 60,000 disasters occur, ranging in size from as large in impact as Hurricane Sandy to as isolated as a single-family house fire. The communities and families affected by these disasters rely on the Red Cross to prepare them; to provide food, shelter, and basic necessities during a disaster; and to assist them with their recovery after a disaster. The vital services that the Red Cross provides the American people are possible only because of the volunteerism of people just like you, who want to help. Do you want to ensure that your neighbors are prepared for the event of a wildfire? Do you want to help your community when flood waters are rising? Do you want to be the Red Cross in your area? Apply today to serve your community before, during, and after a disaster.
