ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Southeastern Pennsylvania Region

Purpose:

Primarily transport blood to area hospitals in Philadelphia or New Jersey using a vehicle from the Red Cross Fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

May occasionally transport blood from blood collection sites to the laboratory for processing or transport supplies to blood drives or fixed sites

Pick up and return empty boxes as needed

Complete required paperwork and obtain signatures

Communicate and share feedback between Red Cross personnel and customers

Drive in a safe and responsible manner

If you and a friend/spouse/family member/etc. want to volunteer together, volunteers can work together with a "navigator" in the co-pilot chair, or drive solo.

Flexible scheduling - shifts are available 24/7

Time Commitment:

Variable; preferred commitment: 2 4-hour shifts/month

Qualifications:

Willingness to support Red Cross Mission

Valid state driver’s license - 3 years driving experience and a clean driving record of at least one year

Professional driving experience is NOT required.

Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

Training:

Orientation to American Red Cross

Defensive Driving course provided by American Red Cross
