ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Maine Region

PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Provide volunteer nursing services in accordance with the Red Cross mission to clients and the community. Provide nursing and health assessment, planning, community education, management, training, direct care and evaluation in alignment with unit priorities. Respond to local disasters and/or Regional or National disasters

OPEN TIME DAYS

Varies with 4-6 hours weekly desirable

REQUIRED TRAINING

This training is provided by the American Red Cross after you are accepted to this position.⦆ EMBARC is an online learning management system. CAS is the online Client Assistance System, which is used to document casework.⦆ Zendesk is an online information and IT support system.

Required:
•⦆ New Employee and Volunteer Orientation (accomplished via Volunteer Connection Intake Checklist)
•⦆ Disaster Cycle Services: An Overview (classroom or EMBARC)
•⦆ Health Services Fundamentals 1 and 2 (EMBARC)
•⦆ Health Services Orientation - Maine Region (when available; telephone conference or classroom)
•⦆ Casework and Recovery Planning Fundamentals (classroom or EMBARC)
•⦆ Direct Client Assistance Fundamentals (classroom or EMBARC)
• CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (AHA accepted)
•⦆ Additional training will be assigned based on chosen business line and as informed by Volunteer Coordinator, nurse leaders, and other unit leadership
