Certified Application Counselors help individuals and families enroll into health coverage through either the Federal Marketplace (Affordable Care Act) or Medicaid. CAC's complete an online training and become certified through Get Covered America.
The training process will allow a CAC to complete the online certification, do an in-person training session with staff, as well as an in-person shadowing session with another volunteer CAC.
Schedules are flexible depending on how much time the CAC wants to dedicate to appointments. CAC's will participate in Enrollment Events, where consumers can schedule an appointment or walk in to get in person assistance - or they can offer individual appointments, either at a Get Covered America office or at a location that is recommended by Get Covered America staff.
This is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity. Bi-lingual volunteers are encouraged but not required.
