ORGANIZATION: Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston

  • 11 people are interested

For volunteers, Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters is the place to make an impact, forge new personal/professional connections and grow as a leader in the Greater Boston community.

Here, we believe it takes a village - and a Big Brother or Sister is an important part of it.

Our community Children's Programs serve Jewish and non-Jewish kids and teens, ages 6-18, through one-to-one mentoring. Volunteers are Jewish and non-Jewish professionals, parents and grandparents who believe in innate human potential and kids' capacity to achieve it with the right supports.

In our Community Program, Big and Little Brothers and Sisters create their own schedule and catch up twice per month, typically on the weekends, and spend time doing activities they mutually enjoy. Currently, over 50 children/teens are awaiting a Big Brother/Sister match. During COVID Matches meet virtually or in person in compliance with CDC and MA health and safety guidelines.

The agency organizes match activities throughout the year (trips to the zoo! tours of Fenway park!) and additional opportunities exist for volunteers to connect to one another through training and social events! To learn more, visit jbbbs.org.
