Thank you for your interest in the Wildlife Rescue Center. Established in 1979, the Center is a non-profit, professional wildlife rehabilitation facility. As the largest such organization in Missouri, the Center regularly treats approximately 3,000 native wild patients each year in our 9,000 square-foot wildlife hospital in Ballwin, MO. In addition, our Executive Director is frequently called on for her wildlife expertise at the State level. Our staff and volunteers maintain strong connections to local law enforcement and the community at large as they are on the front lines of helping to respond to calls involving sick, injured, and potentially orphaned wildlife.
Today, the Center is at an inflection point, poised for a significant growth. The Center is focused on growing both our visibility in the community as it relates to fundraising as well as our influence at the Local and State government level to advance the understanding of wildlife rehabilitation and the necessary regulation. Our long-term goals are to continue advancing the Center’s positive reputation, position the Executive Director and the organization as thought leaders, create new and strengthen current partnerships among stakeholders, and expand our physical location.
A critical component to our ability to achieve these goals is an active, aligned, and engaged Board of Directors. Therefore, the Board of Directors is seeking candidates with prior non-profit experience, a willingness to learn and engage, a passion for the Center’s mission and environmental conservation. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and experiences to apply for Board membership. The Board offers multiple leadership opportunities, include officer roles and committee heads, as well as general board member roles. We understand the demands of work and family and will work with applicants to ensure their involvement with the Center is mutually beneficial.
