ORGANIZATION: Green Art Workshop

Requirements of the position:

  • Serve as a teaching assistant in classroom, working under the supervision of the lead teacher.
  • Develop and teach at least one Green Art Workshop project that fits with the overall curriculum of a given workshop series.
  • Assist lead teacher with workshop preparation, including acquiring and organizing materials and lesson plan development.
  • Participate providing feedback to students regarding their work.
  • Assist with set-up & cleanup of workshops.
  • Help with preparation for and attend fundraisers, festivals, and other community and school events.
  • Take photos and video of workshops and edit them for website and other marketing materials.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as database management, manage workshop evaluations and conduct outreach.
*Green Art Workshop is a mobile arts organization, locations vary mostly within San Francisco. Internship hours/length vary. Minimum commitment is 3 hours per week for 3 months.

In our workshops, participants create imaginative personal and collaborative projects as they re-envision everyday discarded materials. We encourage critical thinking and environmental awareness throughout the creative process.

Description

During our workshops, students explore the creative potential of non-traditional re-usable materials. They express themselves through eco-conscious art projects and earn how to make environmentally sustainable choices as an artist and citizen.
