Title: Board Member - Legal
This role is an Officer of the Board and must be voted upon by current
Board Members.
Job Description : Oversee the law and legalities of Doing Good and its programs.
Time Involved: Approximately 4-5 hours/month.
Responsibilities
Most legal activities for Doing Good are regarding Intellectual Property (IP).
- Serve as liaison with IP Lawyer and Executive Director.
- Serve on the Board of Directors for Doing Good.
- Give legal updates at Board Meetings.
- Participate in Board Meetings.
- Lead and oversee the Legal Committee for Doing Good.
- Participate in monthly Legal Committee meeting to share, discuss, strategize, plan, and carry out Doing Good legal activities. Meeting is held via conference call.
- Effort ongoing and additional legal possibilities for the organization (Doing Good) and its activities.
- Strategize legal ideas with Executive Director, the Board, Doing Good Committees, and Volunteers and partner to implement the ideas.
- Use Google Drive.
- (Living in the Metro Nashville area is preferred. Most activities will be carried out virtually and on your own time. However, in-person activities will eventually be held.)
