Do you enjoy sewing, crocheting or knitting?

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in donating lap blankets, slippers, scarves, patriotic blankets, fidget blankets, and quilts that our staff can give to our patients on our Heartland Hospice Services. These provide comfort for our patients. If you or someone you know that enjoys making blankets, this may be a great opportunity for you to make these items for our patients. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator's, Amanda or McKenzie today at 715-344-4541 or via email at Amanda.Cottrell@hcr-manorcare.com or McKenzie.Jorgenson@hcr-manorcare.com with questions.

About Heartland Hospice of Stevens Point

Mission Statement

We believe that our mission is to enrich lives. That begins with every life we encounter: our employees, our patients and those who love and care for them, the communities in which we operate, our stakeholders and those who are yet to become our customers.

Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support for terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice focuses on enhancing the quality of life, rather than the length of life. It neither hastens nor postpones death; rather it affirms life and acknowledges dying as a normal process. Hospice care stresses human values that go beyond the physical needs of the patient. It ensures that patients spend the end of their life in dignity and comfort.

At Heartland, we consider our involvement with each patient a sacred opportunity and a privilege to be in their lives. We depend on our hospice volunteers to help us provide the love, respect and care our patients and their families need.

Volunteers offer support, companionship and practical, compassionate help. Some volunteers interact directly with patients and families, while others prefer to work behind the scenes in the office setting. As a volunteer, you would help us decide which tasks your are comfortable performing.
