'Everything Under the Rainbow: A Community Thrift Store,' is looking for a Social Media Maverick to join our growing team of volunteers!

Do you find it challenging to tear yourself away from social media? Are you constantly on Facebook, tweeting and/or searching for new and interesting web content? Does the thought of community engagement and empowerment through social media excite and motivate you?

ABOUT US: Everything Under the Rainbow, a social venture of the Rainbow Community Center, was envisioned as an opportunity to improve the socioeconomic status of the LGBTQ community in Contra Costa by providing employment opportunities in an inclusive community environment.

Our Community: El Cerrito, Richmond, Berkeley, Albany Areas.

OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY: We are seeking a creative and motivated individual with a passion for social media communication to help us grow 'Everything Under the Rainbow’s’ online presence and help garner partnerships and relationships with local businesses. In collaboration with the store manager, and volunteer manager, the Social Media volunteer is responsible for researching and curating social media content to support the community outreach of our community thrift store, drafting emails, outreaching to local businesses, and craigslist posts.

Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a weekly and monthly communications calendar for scheduling and continuity of messaging e.g. #of posts, per day, platform, etc.
* Manage and grow Everything Under the Rainbow’s presence on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc)
* Research and compile web content centered around the issues impacting the LGBTQ community, volunteer stories, and local supporters
* Post 3-7 updates/posts on all platforms each week e.g. showcasing store’s 'week treasures,’ wish list, and best sellers list, etc.
* Write 1 blog post each week to be posted onto the RCC website
* Connect with and celebrate relationships with community supporters via social media e.g. LinkedIn etc.
* Touch base with store manager semi-monthly to ensure continuity of messaging & content

Skills/Qualifications/Expertise:
* Dedicated to the use of social media platforms, including, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn
* Creativity, friendliness and sense of humor. Strong commitment to ethics, honesty and integrity.

Direct Report:
Coordination and reporting directed to Everything Under the Rainbow's store manager semi-monthly (more often when needed)

Training Provided:
* Orientation prior to volunteering, including training in use of social media usage and policies

* After which time you will receive training on RCC social media policy and
* Meet with our store manager to discuss projects planning in line with your interests, strengths, and availability.
