Our Polk Country Operation Christmas Child team of volunteers never rests! We are always looking for ways to increase the number of shoeboxes that our county donates each year. In 2015, we were able, through our local churches and community outreach programs, to offer over 13,000 shoeboxes packed full of toys, school supplies, hygiene items, clothing, etc. to be distributed across the globe to boy and girls living in the most dire of circumstances.

If you're looking to get involved in this "world-changing" effort, the opportunities abound and the amount of time or money you invest it totally up to you. Even the smallest contribution (something to go into a shoebox) is helpful!

Please visit www.facebook.com/groups/occpolk and let us know how you'd like to get involved. Our group page lists local fundraising activites and fun events, which may include local restaurants that will donate part of your tab on specific dates for mentioning Opreation Christmas Child to your server.

Thank you and God bless.

Mission Statement

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Description

Operation Christmas Child, a project of international Christian relief and evangelism organization Samaritan’s Purse, is the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind.

Kids, families, schools, churches, and community groups pack empty shoe boxes with simple items most people take for granted, including toothpaste, toys, and school supplies. The shoe boxes are then delivered to hurting children around the world using whatever means necessary--sea containers, trucks, trains, airplanes, boats, elephants, even dog sleds.

Operation Christmas Child is accomplished by the work of more than 140,000 volunteers in the United States, 500,000 worldwide, and tens of thousands of participating churches.
