This is an ongoing opportunity in Rock Hill, SC. The Children's Attention Home is a residential program that serves children ages birth through 21 who have been removed from their homes because of abuse, abandonment, or neglect.
Our organization sustains its mission through the commitment of our volunteers and we certainly can't do what we do without them.
We are looking for an experienced volunteer that is available once every other week to mow lawns, trim hedges, trim bushes/trees, weed eat around our creek, edge, spray round up. Volunteers that use their own equipment can serve on a flexible schedule. Volunteers that will use our equipment are required to serve during business hours (8am-5pm).
Volunteers that serve in this capacity are required to complete an application, background check ($16 fee), as well as attend a (1) hour volunteer orientation.
We have a great staff and many volunteers to get to know. This is a great position for someone who enjoys being outside, having the warm southern sun on your face, and who enjoys being behind the scenes while making a difference!
Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Sharada Abraham, at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
We also encourage you to follow us on Facebook or visit our website at www.attentionhome.org.
The lawn mower was invented in 1830 by Edwin Beard Budding, an engineer from Stroud, Gloucestershire, England. He obtained the idea after seeing a machine in a local cloth mill which used a cutting cylinder (or bladed reel) mounted on a bench to trim cloth to make a smooth finish after weaving!
