Our caring, compassionate patient care volunteers have a wonderful opportunity to lend a helping hand to our hospice patients and their families in need in Prince George’s County, providing companionship, emotional and social support, caregiver relief, and general support in a variety of different ways.

Patient assignments are matched to each volunteer’s interests, availability, and geographical location under the supervision of our Volunteer Coordinator team. As a 24/7 organization that supports hospice patients throughout all of Prince George’s County in both individual residences and assisted living facilities, our patient care volunteers are able to select patient care assignments that align with their own schedule, interests, comfort levels, and geographical location.

As a patient care volunteer, you will have the opportunity to talk with your patient about their life, engage with them in similar interests and be an incredible source of support as they navigate through their end-of life journey. Volunteer support comes in all shapes and forms, with each patient and family having their own, unique needs.

Among many other benefits and opportunities, we provide all of our volunteers with hospice, palliative care, and end-of-life education, patient care trainings, and continuous opportunities for educational in-services.
