Girls on the Run 5k

Embark on a monumental journey...
An independent study led by Dr. Maureen Weiss, University of Minnesota, evaluated the impact of Girls on the Run on positive youth development. Findings show that Girls on the Run has a significant impact on the lives of girls - teaching critical life skills, increasing physical activity, building connections between peers, and more. In addition, Girls on the Run makes a stronger impact than organized sports and physical education programs in teaching life skills such as managing emotions, resolving conflict, helping others, and making intentional decisions. Become a 5k Committee member
and help plan our biggest event of the season, our 5k! Members can choose from 4 sub-committees to work on what they feel is the best fit for them!

Our 4 sub-committees are:

1. Sponsorships

2. Health & Wellness Expo

3. Volunteer Recruitment

4. Publicity/Marketing

We meet once a month at our office from September to May. Most of the work is done in the community to fit your schedule!

Members also have opportunities to be lead volunteers at our 5k or at our one-day volunteer events.
