Anixter Center provides an array of services and supports for older teens and adults with disabilities and related challenges to live, learn, work and play in the community. Volunteers will assist the individuals they are matched with to increase skills in literacy, reading, writing, money or computer basics.

Volunteers are needed to assist with any of the following:

  • Reading and writing tutor
  • Math tutor
  • Basic computer tutor (copy/paste, sending emails with attachments)
  • Financial literacy tutor (basic savings, spending habits and budgeting)

Eligible volunteers for this position should be of age 55 plus.

Description

RSVP members may choose from a list of agencies in Chicago that have a signed agreement with the RSVP office. Volunteer assignments are made according to volunteers’ skills and interests and the needs of the stations.

Each volunteer position has different time requirements. RSVP strives to help you find opportunities that match your interest and scheduling needs. You will then work with your station supervisor to finalize your schedule. This will include time for orientation and training.
