Position Title: Administrative Assistant
Department: Education
Location: 1055 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 1955, Los Angeles
Commitment: 10-12 hours a week, M-F between 9 am and 5 pm
Position Available: Immediately

Position Description and Duties: The Admin Assistant will help with the following office tasks - creation of event flyers, event research, mailings, outreach and confirmation phone calls, data entry, and filing. Volunteers will also assist with recruitment, planning and preparation for various College Readiness events and functions. Other tasks may be included as needed, or based upon the volunteer's skill set.

Skills and Qualities:
Volunteers must be reliable and flexible in switching tasks. Volunteers must possess excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and solid writing and communication skills. Volunteers must have experience using a computer and be familiar with office equipment, including copy and fax machines, internet research, MS Office, and must be willing to learn new programs. Must be able to follow instructions, work with confidential information and sensitive situations, with minimal supervision.

Volunteer Process: Volunteers are recruited for open positions until the positions are filled. They are selected based on their skills, commitment and availability. Prior to beginning service, volunteers are required to attend an orientation, get fingerprinted, and pass a background check. UFC is seeking to build a meaningful, long-term relationship with its volunteer community and is looking for volunteers eager to connect with our organization’s mission and youth. Please note: it may take up to three weeks to be processed after attending an orientation.
