Are you looking to make a difference in your community? As a Companionship Visits volunteer with Providence Care Hospice you will be able to enrich lives by providing caregiver support and preventing caregiver burnout.
Activities during these visits include companionship, playing games, listening to music, reading to a patient, engaging in light housekeeping, etc. We have a Life Stories and Music Alive program that our patients really seem to enjoy!
You will receive training prior to any volunteer assignments, and you will receive support from the Volunteer Coordinator as well as other courteous staff members. You will NOT be responsible for any hands-on care.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Mission Statement
Providence is an organization committed to comforting suffering persons with life threatening or chronic illnesses. Our goal is to integrate physical, spiritual, psychological, and social care by offering a range of innovative services that address end-of-life issues and bereavement needs of children and adults.
Description
Providence Care has redefined the healthcare experience for the elderly. Our innovative Geriatric Wellness System - the only one of its kind in South Carolina includes three major components:
- House Calls controls illness and prolongs life
- Palliative Care focuses on comfort and quality of life given at the same time you are seeking curative treatments
- Hospice is comfort care when a cure is no longer possible
Our services are based on one fundamental principle: bringing healthcare to the elderly who are homebound. Regardless of where you live - at home, an assisted living or a long-term care community - our doctors and nurse practitioners bring their expertise and compassion directly to you. We also work to serve those who are under-served. When we see a need, we act quickly to fill it. We’re here to soothe pain, fear, hunger and loneliness. This is our mission.
We take the time. Our philosophy is to slow down, take time and truly connect with those we serve. Whether it’s our House Calls, Palliative Care or Hospice Program, the question we ask is, "how can we give you your best day today?"
