Do you love kids, history and horses? The Meet a Mini program introduces young children age 4-12 to horses in a safe and approachable way. Participants get to see the stable, groom a mini horse and take him for a short hike around the property. A short museum tour in the Carriage room is also offered. We teach participants about horses and horse safety in these 1 hour programs for families and school groups.

This position is ideal for people who like horses and enjoy leading children in hands on activities. Experience with horses is a plus, but not necessary. Training provided. Programs typically offered weekdays and Sundays at 10am, 1pm and 3pm.

Mission Statement

The Friends of Huddart and Wunderlich Parks is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the local environment and historic legacies of two exceptional parks in Woodside, California.

Description

The Friends organization encourages environmental awareness and provides educational opportunities for children and adults through community participation in the enjoyment of our parks.

The Friends provide children's hikes in Huddart Park, and at the historic Folger Estate Stable site in Wunderlich Park promotes exhibits, gives guided tours, and assists with school programs.

Hikes * History * Horses...Friends of Huddart and Wunderlich Parks provides programs and events in two historic redwood parks. We lead hikes, showcase local history, promote connection to the environment, and celebrate the horse heritage in San Mateo County. We inspire people to enjoy and steward the parks through educational, environmental, and preservation programs, promoting positive public health and community benefits.

Last year we led 1,400 kids on hikes, welcomed 4,430 museum visitors, took 1,300 kids on history field trips and hosted a wide array of community events. We’d love to have you join our team!
