Volunteers needed to provide excellent customer service and satisfaction to our Emergency Department patients and visitors. Volunteer will assist with greeting people, directing visitors, making phone calls, answering questions, locating patients and helping with forms. May also communicate with patients and family, maintain waiting room and supplies, request an interpreter, and assist patients needing wheelchairs. Requires the ability to withstand long periods of walking and/or standing. The volunteer must be able to function with tact, compassion and diplomacy in a hectic environment with frequent interruptions or possible crisis situations. The volunteer will be trained to support and supplement the responsibilities of the professional medical, clinical, and clerical staff, and the other volunteers in the treatment areas.
