The Community Food Bank is in need of hundreds of volunteers to help with the annual Letter Carriers' Food Drive on Saturday, May 11th. Volunteers help collect food that letter carriers bring back from their routes. Volunteers meet at post offices around the city and collect food as the driver returns, sorts the food into big cardboard bins that will get loaded onto a semi and brought to the food bank. Hours are 2-6 p.m. This is a fast-paced, fun activity and lots of hands are needed to make it work. Locations are available in all parts of Tucson. Due to safety issues, volunteers must be age 16 and above. This is physical work. We also recycle as much plastic as we can so we need volunteers who want to focus on that aspect of this food drive as well.
