Summer Youth Program Intern
Each year, RefugeeOne helps hundreds of refugee children thrive and excel through its Youth Program. Be part of a lively summer camp that serves refugees, ages 4-17, from around the world.
Children come to the youth center four days per week and participate in a wide variety of enrichment and extra-curricular activities, such as arts and crafts, athletics, music, dance, and drama. We also go on field trips all over Chicago, to places such as the Lake Michigan beach, Lincoln Park Zoo, museums and other public institutions.
Interns are responsible for planning activities and then supervising and leading children in a variety of activities and settings. We are looking for college students (must be at least 18 years of age) who are energetic, hard-working, and responsible, and who have experience working with children.
Requirements: Previous experience working with kids, energetic, reliable and flexible. Comfortable working with English language learners.
Applicants will only be accepted if they can commit to the entire summer. Must be available for the hours posted in this listing. No exceptions.
Dates: June 26 - August 18, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Times: 12:00 - 6:00 p.m.
**(Dates and exact times may vary slightly.)**
To apply for this internship, please send a resume and a cover letter to Melissa Janisch, mjanisch@refugeeone.org.
