On Saturday, March 31st 2018, Brain Injury Association of Florida will host the 5th annual WalkAbout Brain Injury at Lake Ella in Tallahassee, FL. We will need 20-30 volunteers on the day of the event to perform a variety of duties. The hours will be 8 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The assistance needed would include, but not limited to, help with the following tasks: Set up of: signage along pathway, banners, tables, tents, balloons and displays. Assistance at: registration table, T-shirt table, food table, greet registrants and clean up after event. T-shirts will be provided and we'd love for you to join our walk around Lake Ella! This is an awareness/fundraising event and your participation would be sincerely appreciated by our staff and all those affected by brain injury and vital to our mission for support and awareness.

Description
BIAF is a non-profit organization, founded in 1985 by the mother of a young man who sustained a traumatic brain injury from an automobile crash. It is an organization of individuals with brain injuries, their families, and professionals working to help people cope with the long term effects of brain injury. BIAF is the official state association of the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) in Alexandria, VA and as such is tied to a nationwide network. The organization assists individuals with brain injuries, their families and professionals by providing: * Statewide Information and Resource Center * Education and Training * Support Services * Toll-free Help line * Awareness and Prevention Programs * Legislative Advocacy All resources are provided free of charge to persons with brain injuries and their families who request information. Anyone who might benefit from our support services, educational materials, or other resource information is encouraged to participate in our organization.
