Sometimes we have a patient who still smokes at home. Most of our volunteers are unable to provide services to these patients because of a sensitivity to cigarette smoke.
If you are a smoker, or do not mind smoke, and are interested in volunteering for Hospice, please get in touch with us today.
Our patients may need help with any of the following: Each patient is unique and does not necessarily require all of theses things, it is just a list of ideas.
- Sitting with a patient for short periods while caregivers run errands
- Light housekeeping
- Companionship
- Reading
- Walking in a wheelchair
- Watching TV
- Listening to music
- Helping with pets
- Writing letters, emails
- all kinds of things you can do :)
You must be willing to volunteer twice a month at minimum, but most volunteers choose to volunteer once a week.
We could use your loving gift of time and compassion. Please contact us today and ask for the Volunteer Coordinator.
