Primary Responsibilities: The patient and customer experiences begins at the front door. As a volunteer, you will be the first to greet, welcome, determine the purpose of the visit and provide a personal escort to patients, families, vendors, and visitors as they arrive. You will work closely and communicate often with hospital staff and volunteers, using internal and external resources to find information.

Character and Competency Qualifications: You strive to greet every person before they have the opportunity to request assistance from you. You really enjoy helping others and you encourage, support and promote diversity in the world. You have the special ability to listen to others at length to ensure your understanding of the request. When you see an opportunity for improvement, you enjoy creating thoughtful solutions which benefit the greater good. You are enthusiastic, and able to initiate and maintain positive, encouraging conversation with anyone. You are an advocate for the rights of yourself and others and you have the integrity to stand up and ensure fairness is maintained in the world. You are accountable for your responsibilities and hold other accountable for theirs. You are able to escort an individual in a wheelchair. You can express and receive communication effectively both orally and in writing. You understand that learning is a lifelong process, and your mind is open to new and different perspectives.

Choose one shift for a weekly committment. Shift are available every day of the week. Shift times are: 5:00am-8:00am; 8:00am-12:00pm; 12:00pm-4:00pm & 4:00pm-8:00pm. Shift times may have flexibility, please inquire with Volunteer Resources Manager for details.
