The agency is currently recruiting qualified board members to fill gaps as board members’ term limits expire. We are seeking diverse thought leaders who are dedicated to service and innovation to end homelessness. Those with finance or evaluative expertise and those with an understanding of rural Minnesota and Tribal nations are needed to help ensure a diverse governance culture. Board appointments are for three-year terms. Expectations include attendance and participation in seven (7) board meetings per year. Meetings are two hours in length and occur in odd-numbered months in addition to a final December meeting. There are also standing committees of Governance, Finance, Human Resources, Research & Evaluation and occasionally time-limited ad hoc committees. Financial contributions are not expected of board members.

Description
Hearth Connection is an intermediary, working with government, health care, and community social service agencies to end homelessness in Minnesota.
- We secure, distribute, and leverage funds to a statewide network of supportive housing programs.
- We managemulti-countycollaboratives to deliver intensive case management and integrate supportive housing with health care systems.
- We break the cycle of long-term homelessness by diverting people from cyclical use of emergency and crisis services, and achieving lasting housing stability for our participants.
Hearth Connection and our partners focus on people with the most barriers to housing and the longest histories of homelessness.
Hearth Connection continuously evaluates its programs and uses data and research to improve effectiveness and efficiency. We continue to demonstrate that our supportive housing model brings stability and positive outcomes to people’s lives. Further, our approach shifts public spending from expensive, repetitive crisis services to preventive care that improves participants’ prospects for brighter futures. As an intermediary we monitor, train, and report on compliance matters to federal, state, and local funders.CAUSE AREAS
