Santa Cruz Bicycle Exchange
Volunteer Avery with a bike she refurbished for donation to Barrios Unidos!

You can learn bike repair skills and benefit your community at the Santa Cruz Bicycle Exchange! The Exchange provides refurbished bikes to those in need in Santa Cruz County. In addition to keeping unwanted bicycles out of the landfill, this service provides a clean and healthy form of transportation to those who could otherwise not afford it. We use donated bicycles (SCBE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity) and entirely volunteer labor to make all bicycles safe and fully functional. The Exchange distributes the repaired bicycles through existing Santa Cruz County social service agencies, including Barrios Unidos, Boys and Girls Club of Santa Cruz and the Live Oak School District. See http://scbe.bikex.org for pictures and a map.

The Santa Cruz Bicycle Exchange has delivered 100+ bikes each year for the years 2015-2017. Join us and help get a bike to someone who needs it!
