Mission Statement
Farmer Frog is Sprouting Simple Change. We grow kids, cultivate community and nurture habitat for all living things through real food.
Description
We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization serving thousands of people with free or low cost fresh food and hands on learning as we also protect the environment and wildlife 365 days a year. We help create, maintain and manage edible school gardens and small permaculture farms. We show educators how to use such spaces as outdoor classrooms to teach STEAM and we assist folks learning how to grow food in whatever space they have available in ecosystem friendly ways.
Our headquarters is in Snohomish. Our new BearGrass Farm will be opening soon to offer learning and gathering spaces, retreat and relaxing opportunities and is a demonstration site for several important programs including Bear With Me (our wildlife and predator friendly practices), Farmer Frog Studios (our art and film projects) and smart farming systems that include research and partnership with local higher education institutions. We host people from all walks of life, from schools through clubs and corporate teams, various cultural programs, immigrant communities, private gatherings, hands on classes, summer campers, NAMI programming, facilitator-led activities, juvenile releasees and community service oriented individuals.
