YOU can inspire positive change in the life of an youth-in-need.
Friends for Youth is currently seeking adult volunteers who are interested in being a mentor for a youth in their community. Right now, there are over 40 children waiting to be matched with a mentor, and that mentor could be you!
Our organization has been serving youth-in-need residing in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties for over 40 years. By providing training and on-going support, it is our goal to find people who wish to be mentors to the kids in our program. We are looking for mentors who are at least 20 years old and can dedicate 2-3 hours per week to meet with their mentee.
If being a supportive and positive role model to local youth sounds interesting to you, take the first step today and register for an info session! View our session on our website: www.friendsforyouth.org, or email us at mentor@friendsforyouth.org.
NOTE: Our one-time Information Session is held at our office in Redwood City, but you can mentor near your home or work for the weekly commitment.

Mission Statement
Creating quality mentoring relationships for youth who need them most.
Description
Friends for Youth creates and cultivates friendships between underserved youth and adult volunteers who serve as positive role models, helping kids to grow into responsible, productive members of the community. We seek caring adults who would like to make a difference in the lives of young people.
For our longest standing 1-to-1 program, volunteers spend at least two hours each week with a child for at least 6 months, doing fun activities they both enjoy. Friends for Youth staff organize two to three group activities each month such as going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, museums, plays or baseball games.
We also have our Group School-based Mentoring program, where volunteers get to mentor a small group of students at their campus. We work with grades 5-12th and mentor students across the Bay Area. Volunteer mentors help lead activities and facilitate discussions with the students, while making valuable connections like they would in a 1:1 setting!
Friends for Youth's Program Coordinators provide training and ongoing, individualized support to all volunteers to ensure the success of each friendship.
