The Society for Art Publications of the Americas and its Meridian Gallery promote social, philosophical and spiritual change among previously isolated individuals and communities.
Description
The Society for Art Publications of the Americas (established 1985) is the parent nonprofit organization of several programs: Meridian Gallery (1989) increases the visibility of underrepresented artists from across the Hemisphere; The Meridian Interns Program (1996) hires low-income teens as paid artists-in-training; Meridian Music: Composers in Performance (1998) promotes Bay Area New Music with monthly concerts; Meridian Dance (2010) fosters experimentation among local choreographers; MERIDIAN STUDIO VISITS (2014) is a virtual exhibition series that offers viewers a rare glimpse into the intimate and often-hidden space of the artist's studio.
