About

Join us and become a Senior LinkAge Line Volunteer in 2017.

Counselors help Medicare consumers, their families and caregivers better understand Medicare options by providing information and referrals regarding resources. Counselors will also help Medicare consumers enroll in programs that could assist with health insurance costs and reduce prescription drug costs.

If you are willing to volunteer with us please contact me. Upon a successful background check and the completion of the three-day training class volunteers will receive certification through the Minnesota Board on Aging as a Health Insurance Counselor with the State Health Insurance and Assistance Program (SHIP).

Volunteers receive staff support, guidance, and on-going training as you provide assistance, outreach, and one-on-one counseling in your community. We can hold Office Hours at a site in West Duluth and Downtown Duluth and possibly even Hermantown as needed.

If you have questions please contact me now. Please contact Lee Swenson, Volunteer Coordinator with the Senior LinkAge Line at 1-800-333-2433, Ext. 81019.
