We are looking for three volunteers in 2018.

We need one or two volunteers in the Floodwood, MN area to become a Senior LinkAge Line counselor and help people with their Medicare questions.

Counselors help Medicare consumers, their families and caregivers better understand Medicare options by providing information and referrals regarding resources. Counselors will also help Medicare consumers enroll in programs that could assist with health insurance costs and reduce prescription drug costs.

If you are willing to volunteer then please contact me. Upon a successful background check and the completion of the three-day training class volunteers will receive certification through the Minnesota Board on Aging as a Health Insurance Counselor with the State Health Insurance and Assistance Program (SHIP). Our next training class will be held in early 2018.

Volunteers will receive staff support, guidance, and on-going training as you provide assistance and outreach to seniors.

We are able to hold Office Hours at the Floodwood Services and Training building as needed.

If you have questions please contact me, Lee Swenson, Volunteer Coordinator with the Senior LinkAge Line at 1-800-333-2433, Ext. 81019.
