We are looking for volunteers who are willing to become trained in Medicare.

Are you willing to become a Senior LinkAge Line counselor and volunteer to help people in the North Shore area of Minnesota with their Medicare questions?

Counselors help Medicare consumers, their families and caregivers better understand Medicare options by providing information and referrals regarding resources. Counselors may also help Medicare consumers enroll in programs that could assist with health insurance costs and reduce prescription drug costs.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact me. Upon a successful background check and the completion of the three-day training class volunteers will receive certification through the Minnesota Board on Aging as a Health Insurance Counselor with the State Health Insurance and Assistance Program (SHIP). Our next training class will be held in early 2018.

Volunteers will receive staff support, guidance, and on-going training as you provide assistance and outreach to seniors.

We are able to hold Office Hours in the Community Partners facility as needed--it is a wonderful place to meet with clients.

If you have questions now please contact me, Lee Swenson, Volunteer Coordinator with the Senior LinkAge Line at 1-800-333-2433, Ext. 81019.
