About

Join us and become a Volunteer in 2017.

Will you become a Senior LinkAge Line counselor and volunteer to help people in the Virginia area with their Medicare questions?

Counselors help Medicare consumers, their families and caregivers better understand Medicare options by providing information and referrals regarding resources. Counselors will also help Medicare consumers enroll in programs that could assist with health insurance costs and reduce prescription drug costs.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact me. Upon a successful background check and the completion of the three-day training class volunteers will receive certification through the Minnesota Board on Aging as a Health Insurance Counselor with the State Health Insurance and Assistance Program (SHIP).

Volunteers will receive staff support, guidance, and on-going training as you provide assistance and outreach to seniors.

Volunteers receive staff support, guidance, and on-going training as you provide assistance, outreach, and one-on-one counseling with Medicare consumers in your community.

If you have questions please contact me, Lee Swenson, Volunteer Coordinator with the Senior LinkAge Line at 1-800-333-2433, Ext. 81019.
