About

We are looking ahead for volunteers in 2018.

Are you willing to volunteer to help seniors in your community? We are especially looking for one or two volunteers from Moose Lake, Barnum, or Mahtowa, MN, who are willing to become a Senior LinkAge Line counselor.

Counselors help Medicare consumers, their families and caregivers better understand Medicare options by providing information and referrals regarding resources. Counselors will also be asked to help Medicare consumers enroll in programs that could assist with health insurance costs and reduce prescription drug costs.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact us. Upon a successful background check and the completion of the three-day training class volunteers will receive certification through the Minnesota Board on Aging as a Health Insurance Counselor with the State Health Insurance and Assistance Program (SHIP). Our next class will be held in early 2018.

Volunteers will receive staff support, guidance, and on-going training as you provide assistance and outreach to seniors.

If you have questions now please contact me, Lee Swenson, Volunteer Coordinator with the Senior LinkAge Line at 1-800-333-2433, Ext. 81019.
