About

Become a Senior LinkAge Line volunteer counselor and help seniors in your community.

Counselors help Medicare consumers, their families and caregivers better understand Medicare options by providing information and referrals regarding resources. Counselors will also help Medicare consumers enroll in programs that could assist with health insurance costs and reduce prescription drug costs.

To become a Senior LinkAge Line volunteer counselor you will need to complete our training; the next three-day class will be held in early 2017 but don't wait untill then--contact me now. We are taking applications now as the class fills up quickly.

Upon a successful background check and the completion of the three-day training class volunteers will receive certification through the Minnesota Board on Aging as a Health Insurance Counselor with the State Health Insurance and Assistance Program (SHIP). Volunteers receive staff support, guidance, and on-going training as you provide assistance, outreach, and one-on-one counseling in your community.
