Become a Senior LinkAge Line volunteer Medicare counselor and help people in your community.
We are looking for volunteers who are willing to become trained Medicare counselors. Our next volunteer training class will be held in Duluth on Thursday and Friday, May 9 & 10 and May 23 & 24, 2019.
Counselors help Medicare consumers, their families and caregivers better understand Medicare options by providing information and referrals regarding resources. Counselors will also help Medicare consumers enroll in programs that could assist with health insurance costs and reduce prescription drug costs.
If you are interested in volunteering please contact us. Upon a successful background check and the completion of the three-day training class volunteers will receive certification through the Minnesota Board on Aging as a Health Insurance Counselor with the State Health Insurance and Assistance Program (SHIP). Our next volunteer training class will be held in the spring of 2020. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator with your questions or to request a volunteer application.
Volunteers will receive staff support, guidance, and on-going training as you provide assistance and outreach to seniors in your community.
If you are interested in becoming a Medicare counselor and have questions please contact Lee, our Volunteer Coordinator at the Senior LinkAge Line, at 1-800-333-2433, Ext. 81019.

ARDC is a regional planning and development agency serving the counties of Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake and St. Louis in Northeast Minnesota.
Our organization provides free, one-on-one assistance to people with Medicare and their families via telephone and face-to-face sessions, public education presentations, and other programs. We work directly with people on their Medicare questions.
