Lay Leader providing instruction

A Diabetes-PATH Lay Leader is someone who is interested in helping others take Personal Action Toward Health by becoming better self-managers of their diabetes and living healthier lifestyles. Are you comfortable with public speaking to groups of 15-20? Do you have concern and compassion for people with diabetes? Are you available to lead a Diabetes-PATH sessions once a week following the trainings Prior to leading a Diabetes-PATH class, lay leaders (instructors) will complete a FREE 4 day training lead by a Master Trainer. When leading a class lay leaders will be provided with a curriculum to follow. At the end of the training you will receive a certification.
No teaching experience is necessary.
You will be certified to co-lead workshops in your community.
Lunch will be provided.

Detroit Area Agency on Aging (DAAA) is a nonprofit agency that serves older persons, adults with disabilities, and caregivers residing in Detroit, Hamtramck, Harper Woods, Highland Park & the 5 Grosse Pointes. We are one of 16 Area Agencies on Aging in the state of Michigan and 622 in the nation.

We assist older adults, adults with disabilities, and caregivers by removing social, economic, physical, and psychological barriers and creating aging-friendly neighborhoods through nutrition, health and wellness, and senior independence.
