Thank you for considering this volunteer opportunity! TrailKeepers assist the non-profit Schuylkill River Heritage Area (SRHA) with maintenance and preservation of the Schuylkill River Trail in Berks and Schuylkill Counties, southeastern Pennsylvania, without local, county, or state financial assistance. We have dedicated volunteer crews for the Bartram trail (about 30 on the listserv) and the Thun trail (about 70 on the listserv). The Bartram section is overseen by Jason Stoudt and the Thun section is by Greg Marshall. There are about five TrailKeeper work days per year. Typical tasks include pruning, swale and culvert clearing, and re-establishing the trail's gravel surface.
