Volunteering at the VFW is very laid back and all the people are frindly. Meals at VFW Post 8235 are a paid for with donations from individual patrons at the time of service (breakfast or dinner). These meals are fund raisers for the VFW and the work of the Post in the community. Meal preparation can be conducted by individuals helping existing volunteers or as a group from an organization, a family or couple preparing and serving an entire meal. All kitchen volunteers must be trust worthy and reliable so that meals are served on time. Avergae amount of patrons is 10-20 per meal or less.
The Canteen Manager coordinates with the cook to identify the menu, food products and necessary supplies. Cooks are needed for Saturday Breakfast (8:00 am-11:00 am), and Dinners on Fridays Nights (5:00 pm - 7:30 pm).
Volunteer Kitchen Helper
Helpers are needed for both Breakfast and Dinner. They help get the food out to patrons and keep it coming, re-supplying the cook and take orders.
